Endoscopic adenoidectomy using a microdebrider (shaver) is a modern, minimally invasive surgical technique for removing enlarged adenoids. The procedure is performed using endoscopic equipment: a thin endoscope with a high-definition camera is inserted through the nose, together with a specialized instrument called a microdebrider (shaver). A microdebrider is a precision surgical instrument that carefully removes enlarged adenoid tissue while simultaneously cutting, fragmenting, and suctioning it away. This technique reduces the risk of bleeding, minimizes trauma to surrounding tissues, and allows for more complete removal of adenoid tissue compared with the traditional method.

Contraindications

Acute exacerbation of chronic diseases;
A severely weakened immune system.
How is the procedure performed?
Thanks to the use of a microdebrider, the procedure is minimally invasive and highly precise.
The operation is typically performed under general anesthesia (particularly in children), although the type of anesthesia is determined individually by the surgeon and anesthesiologist. After anesthesia is administered, the surgeon inserts an endoscope through the nasal cavity to visualize the adenoid tissue. Using the microdebrider, the enlarged adenoids are carefully removed under direct endoscopic guidance.
Once the surgeon confirms that there is no active bleeding, the procedure is completed and the endoscope is removed.
